Best Cost Effective Way to Improve 3rd Gen Entune Premium

I’ve been looking at subs to go with this system for some time. Any ideas?
I’ve contacted OEM Audio Plus about their system. Their System Series without the Tweeters is $1099. The kit would contain the following:
  • Multi-Channel 32-Bit DSP Power Amplifier
  • O+ Signature Sound Reproduction
  • Tacoma-Specific 8" Subwoofer System
  • Quick-Sync Wiring Harness
Has anyone went with this? Thoughts on price?

There are quite a few owners that installed the oem systems on TacomaWorld.com. They are all very satisfied with the custom fit and great sound. I personally did not see it as a cost effective system for me. I would never take full advantage of so much sound. Now if I was 30 or 40 years younger it may be in my truck. I get all the volume and bass I need with the Kicker upgrade for an old dude.

You will enjoy the improved sound and laugh at the factory speakers. You will then ask "how did THOSE speakers sound as good as they did?" and, with the new speakers will applaud the quality of your factory head unit. Personally I had the door speakers a couple of months before the tweeters. They were good but the tweeters def complete the system. I still get looks while sitting in my truck at lunch with the door mirrors vibrating from the bass.

Oh yea, I’ve only had the truck a few months and was especially disappointed in the sound and was excited when I found this thread. Finally getting some time to goof off so this was next on the list for the Tacoma. Thanks for sharing!

I really did believe y’all that I was going to pull out some sh!tty speakers but dammit man!!! These look like some stuff I’ve pulled out of trucks out of the 60’s!!!

It’s crazy. They are extremely light.

Yeah, I had pretty much the same reaction as when I pulled that dash speaker out of my 67 F-100. “Haha, Oh my God, look at this sh!t,...” is how that went I think.

It just bites that these come in $30k plus trucks. Like you said they look a lot like the single AM radio dash speakers from the 60's.

Has anyone tried the new kicker key amp in there Tacoma with the kicker speaker upgrade?
Would think this would set someone up if they are not looking to go all out just want better sound and a little louder

I have one question for anybody who has replaced the speakers. Do you hear any squeaking or clicking in the dash or doors after you put it all back together?

Nope.... I can't imagine why you would unless you broke clips and didn't replace them.
