Cruise control issues for 2018

Ok so the cruise control issue I was having was water in the sensor. Dealership said it’s been a common issue with no fix yet. So like simple washing with the hose could do this to anyone. At least they are working on a fix to protect the sensor.
That’s good to know. Another good design by Toyota engineers haha at least it’s not like the Tundra with the air injection system getting water in it and causing it to go into limp mode and all the dash lights ABS, 4HI, 4LO, slip indicator light, VSC, AUTO LSD come on. That was costing people up to $4000 in repairs because it was happening out of warranty. Toyota finally recalled it and reimbursed people.

Dang. Didn’t know about that one.
One thing I will give Toyota is that they usually make it right. It may take a while but they own it and make it worth your while.
More so with domestic companies.

Well, I'm driving at 65mph with cruise control on. Hit a rain area and bang, the cruise control turned off and clean the sensor came on.

I’m interested to see what issues people have when it starts snowing and freezing rain.

Mine stayed doing that after I put the pro grille in....oh well...just hold down the cruise button and it shuts off that stupid radar and acts like a regular cruise control

I just came back from WV and drove 8 of the 10 hours in a downpour. No problem with the cruise kicking out or warning messages....so far. However, if I'm using CC while accelerating (such as when the truck kicks down a gear to climb a hill while in cruise) and have to use the brakes for some reason or other, the cruise will disengage, but the idle will shoot up about 1000 rpm and hang there for a few seconds before it comes down on its own.

I guess it takes some time for one sensor to talk to another sensor and finally drop the rpm to the normal level. The truck has done this since day one, and it has gotten no worse, or no better.
