Auto Writers Gush Over New Ford Ranger

I wonder if their resale value on the ranger will still be Junk. It looks like a new version of a honda truck.

I was reading that àfter 5 years a Tacoma will retain 73% of its original value compared to 52% of the Colorado ! That's huge !

Ford will never retain their value as well because the Big 3 rebate their trucks to death. When they knock $6-8k off a sticker price with a rebate they kill the value.
Toyota has had quite a few rebates this year. I was glad they did when I traded up to my OffRoad unscathed. But if they keep it up it will cause depreciation.

Thanks Crawdad for sharing the vid.

The one "reviewer" was obviously giddy about the Ranger before testing. You would think he would attempt to do a better job of concealing his biasness - for his own credibility sake. "The Tacoma has better articulation!!! ...but that's due to the twisty, cheap C-channel frame under the Tacoma's bed....", "The Ranger has way more room inside....and more comfortable seats...." Well, there IS less room in the Tacoma when the model you selected to review has a sunroof and the head liner is 4 inches lower compared to the Ranger with no sunroof and less plush interior! Jeez....

Is there a truck site out there where the review is actually straight up, fair and square, where they are not paid or compensated by the manufacturers? Wonder how Consumer Reports will rate the Ranger?

Fully boxed frame so I can haul my D4 Cat on my gooseneck with my Ranger... [emoji23]

They occasionally irk me but I do really enjoy their channel. I don't think it's possible to find a 100% unbiased channel... at least these guys have admitted that they have a Ford persuasion on other videos and I do think they try to keep it objective... if you find a better one let me know... lol

Here is an interesting, eyes wide open, no punches pulled very short review on the Ranger by Edmunds and at the end, the reviewer Dan Edmunds adds that he "is skeptical that the Ranger has the under body clearance and ability to take on the Tacoma off-road when the going really gets rough."

One more point...it’s not the total torque more than where that torque band is. I’m assuming the big F*rd output is at higher rpms. But what is it like in grunt trail or trying to pull that boat outa the water effort?
Just my experience from an 85 Turbo T-Bird....
