WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR TACOMA TODAY?

Just to say, not "done", but decided on and in the process of doing...
I've chosen my accent colors. Yes, multiple accent colors. Since my truck is black and I'm not too crazy about a 100% black truck (mostly because any full black vehicle takes a second glance or a close look to recognize as ones own vehicle), I'm going with white and yellow (or red) combos for a unique look.
Just to point this out, I've been living in the Portland, OR area for the last 20 years, so Trailblazer colors are a possibility (although I'm not a huge fan of red; not a lucky color for me). That said, white and red are also Xmas colors, so that's why I'm leaning toward yellow.
Since my Taco is a work in progress until what seems like the end of time, I'll just have to accept that it isn't done, but getting done...
I plan on keeping the stock rims for these customization purposes and for the fact that anything else will just cost more money, be more "precious", and I most likely won't want to alter in this manner.
That being said, the rims will eventually be white with black center caps and yellow (or red) lug nuts. The grille surround will be white with a yellow (or red) emblem and my hood scoop will be white with a yellow (or red) centerpiece. I'm also gonna blackout the Husky locker on my Taco with possible accent combos.
I'm still considering what to do with the badges around the truck, but I have one or two ideas that I might play with... One being that I can spray a few layers of plasti dip on the badges, remove the dip just from the letters leaving a protective coat on the truck, and "stripe" the letters with my accent colors.
Either way, I'm totally stoked to finally start a new project on my truck that will, in fact, make it unique. AAGHH, I can't wait to get started!!!

Wait for it...

What's yalls opinion on aftermarket running boards? My truck is lifted 6 inches and the factory running boards sit too flush to the truck so it's a pain to get in and out of. Do nerf bars sit lower? Or is there a better DIY solution?

If you have a little extra change, my suggestion is amp research power steps, my uncle has them on his dodge, great steps, you don't have to look at them (I'm not a big fan of how the steps look), and they move fast...

Ya for a whopping $1300... My wallet hurts already

How tall are you? Just put yourself on the rack turn the handles until your at least 6'4" like me or a few more . Then you can step into most lifted Tacos !

Been working on the paint here and there this week, just using some rattle cans... Am I supposed to use a top coat of some sort or will the paint be just fine without a sealant?ImageUploadedByTaco Forum1435131292.529346.jpg
Still have to add another coat or two to the lower valance after sanding a few weird spotsImageUploadedByTaco Forum1435131413.308559.jpg

It's been a rough ass day on the Tacoma... Headed to work this morning and got a piece of rebar kicked up and it went through my bumperImageUploadedByTaco Forum1435162989.037103.jpg. Then I took it to Toyota to get it washed and it looks like instead of washing it they took a razor blade to the paint all along passenger side and dented the the bed.. Not a happy camper today ImageUploadedByTaco Forum1435162835.626748.jpg

I'd be at their desk demanding they fix it.

Dont take no for an answer THEY WILL FIX MY F***ing TRUCK is what you say to them

Oh I agree. I hate dealing with their bullshit service. They're gonna fix it
That's right. When I got my 2012 it had suction cup marks on the inside of the windshield from the factory. Wouldn't come off. Took it back. They said they will put an aftermarket in. I said like hell you will. It will be factory or you can have the truck back and you can get me another one. They didn't want to spend $1200 for it. They did. I'm a real ass when I buy new. For the first couple months anyways.
