My first Tacoma

Thinking about buying a 2005-2015 tacoma, 4.0 v6, is they're anything I need to know about them? How much can a v6 tow? And would I fit comfortably in it? (6,4 230) I've heard alot of people not call them trucks because they lack a v8 but I've seen more tacomas do work than chevys and fords. Also what's the biggest lift kit that I can put on one? Thank you

If you get one with the factory towing package it's 6400 pounds, I think they come with a tranny cooler.. 6'4" 230 might be a little tight ha.. But you can easily find one at a dealer and sit in it and see what you think..if you're gonna be towing all the time I'd say get a full size but the Tacoma is surprisingly a pretty strong truck.. I had 4 full size Chevys prior and I'm satisfied with my Tacoma.. You can get up to 6" of suspension lift there's also body lifts and leveling kits to get a few more inches..

Thanks man, lol yeah I've been told I'd be a little tight, the nearest ones are me are only extended cabs and I'd want a crew cab if I was to get one. I tow pretty often, I don't exceed 5,000 sometimes ( usually scrap metal, mowers, atvs, with a 1,000 trailer) but I'm generally towards a tundra ( which my gf keeps telling me id more comfortable in ) but something about the tacoma just pulls me towards it.

Ha yea if you tow often I would recommend a tundra just for comfort, but you can give a Tacoma hell and it won't complain.. Double cab def looks better and is more convenient so it's up to you man

Thanks for the quick response man, yeah I figured that I'd have to really pick between the two lol. Possibly the tundra, you wouldn't by chance know much about those would you? 5.7 good for 300,000 miles? More? I mean it's a toyota lol, those tundras are mean haha

Haha all I know is my girlfriend has a 2014 tundra 1794 edition and it is freaking sweet.. I'm confident that thing would tow nearly anything... Without a struggle... That 5.7 with the 6 speed is a baaad combo but in a good way ha.. She only has 45k on hers so of course it's flawless as of now... I have a 2013 Tacoma with 55k and its doing really well.. No problem in the 20k miles I've had it

Nice! I just sat in a tacoma this morning, crew cab, unfortunately I felt trapped lol. My chest is 46 inches and shoulder to shoulder I'm 27 inches, really hurt riding in it. Lol, found a tundra instead, and tempted to get it, aqua blue color, 2008, just don't like the miles, 67,000 miles for 27,000, don't know if that's a good? 5.7l by the way and it's a crewmax limited

Yea that prolly about right but I guess it depends if it's 4wd and what options it has

My neighbor is an NFL wide receiver. He's 6'5 and he can sit comfortably in the passenger seat of my Tacoma. However, considering how big you are, if you can get a Tundra you'll feel much more comfortable.

Have you had any experience launching boats with your Tacoma? I have a 2011 Tacoma PreRunner 2WD with tow package. I plan to purchase a 22' Bay Boat which is under the 6500lb tow capacity however, I've been advised to check further on the issue since launching a boat is not factored into tow capacity. This is my first forum so trying to find any other Tacoma owners with similar experience.

You should be fine if you know what your doing, i use to launch a 17 foot bass boat on an algae infested boat ramp in a 2wd explorer. It also had near bald tires just put it in low gear and creep in and out.

I've launched various things in mine, no problem, even a wakeboard boat..
