Does anybody know what is a good interval for changing out the brake fluid? My wife and I have a 1999 Tacoma Extra-Cab SR5 four wheel drive pickup with the 3.4 Liter V6.

There is no interval that I am aware of. But, since your truck is getting close to 20 years old, you should probably change it. Avoid any temptation to "upgrade" the fluid. Just use a good brand fluid that matches the specifications on the cap or the manual.

Thanks for the tip WiskyT. What kind of whiskey do you prefer?

This August will be 9 years dry, and I mean DRY! lol

I liked real whiskey. Not that yuppie single this and that bullshit. Any straight bourbon was good like Beam or Evan Williams. Jack Daniels is good stuff but I never really liked it. There's a bar in NJ I used to hit once or twice a week and the barkeep Reggie would always pour me big glass of Dew when I walked in. It would be sloshing over the sides as he handed it to me, the first one was always free.

I never liked paying for Scotch and the more expensive it was the less flavor it had, to me. I've had plenty of expensive Scotch on expense accounts when others were buying and I never was impressed with it. The lower priced Scotches like Johnny Walker or Cutty were pretty good but i only drank them neat or with a splash of water.

I've damn near beaten people for mixing good booze. I once saw a guy order Cutty and ginger ale. The bar tender replied "It's good with Dr Pepper too" and the guy said "Really?". The guy was such a dipshit he never figured out the bar tender was mocking him.

So, cheap well booze mixed with anything is okay. But to this day if I saw someone order a Tullamore Dew and Fanta I'd probably break a chair over his head.

Use any Major brand 100% Full Synthetic Brake Fluid DOT3, I am using AMSOIL DOT3 Brake Fluid ,recommend a flush every 30,000 miles !Cooler operatind, disapates heat and repells moisture!
