Disappointing v6

Same with mine the truck is under power it bogs down rather than spin the tires. Toyota sure missed the gearing on this truck. This truck is gutless until the rpms are over 3000 which is impossible in sand or snow. The truck will bog down before rpms ever get to 3000

The wheels aren't supposed to spin, it's called traction control. Turn it off and see how it does. Keep in mind, even when "off", it probably really isn't all the way off.

I'm calling BS on this. No way a stock 2nd gen is that much faster than a 3rd gen. If the 3rd gen wasn't using ECT this video is pointless.

I do mention that my Tacoma is supercharged but even then a stock 4.0 puts the spanking on the 3.5 as seen here and yes they verified ECT was on:

ECT does nothing for power and only mainly controls shift points. 2nd gen Tacomas have ECT but just sense when you need more RPM instead of having a button.

I will say it again for the 20th Time, a MT is the only way to go with the 2016. You can hold any gear you want!! I can sift from 4th to 5th at 95mph at its still pulling hard!!!

If it's anything like the previous 6 speed it will have throwout bearing and shift fork issues. I miss being able to accelerate in a higher gear without a downshift and having to row gears but the issues outweigh the "fun" in my book. I'll save the manual for a sports car.

A manual won't make up for a weak engine.

To be honest as long as I had a taco which is a v6, I'm happy. I don't really look at our trucks for speed.

They will not be known for speed either. Unless u find a SAFE way to bypass gov without destroying main bearings.

Quick, that can be done pretty easy.... fast, not so much.

If I'm looking for speed performance I'll take a BMW m3 or m4. Those things with turbos haul ass!

So your video is pretty much pointless. You're "racing" a supercharged truck against a stock truck. That's silly.

Yes pointless. I'd expect an answer like that from a Turd gen owner. Did you watch the other video where a stock 2nd gen burns a Turd gen? Even the 1st gen is keeping up.

Are you one of those that think the previous generation of whatever is the last of the real ones?

You seem to be one of those that thinks the latest gen is super more cool better awesome than the last gen. The only thing I like about the new one is the interior. There's no need to be upset about the weak engine.

You obviously have childish tendencies. I grew out of name calling back in middle school. Are you a trump supporter by any chance? I'm not a 3rd gen owner. Hopefully will be though.

Wow! Butthurt even before owning. You're going to have a bad time in the outside world.

No.... u mad cuz i like 1st gen quality?
Fit and finish was better, more real steel used, my 88 nissan carried a load better than my 2nd gen tacoma.
But i like the power and aftermarket support for my 2nd gen.

As for the third gen, i feel its ugly, unproven, a guinea pig, but i wish my 2nd gen had the miles on it a 3rd gen would have.
