What have you done to your Tacoma today?

I need to do that. I was behind a horse trailer on a one lane hwy yesterday and it was dropping and splattering horse crap out the bottom and prayed my truck for miles.
Between that and all the bugs I hit for 250 miles my truck looks sad:(
Taking my girl on a date tonight, wanted to make sure she got there in a nice chariot ;)

I like the protection from rock chips. My last truck had chips behind the rear wheels from driving on dirt roads.

Bummer, i run goodyear authority which have big voids.... so far no chips to the rockers or rear end.... rubber yes, chips no.
Sliders probably caught most of the rocks up front, not sure why the back is in good condition tho.

How do you like the Authority's? My local Wally World had a set of 265/75/16 that they had some trouble selling. Final price I saw before they sold was $121 each. I wanted to jump on them, but I can't justify it to myself when my current tires still have a lot of life left.

Second set, love em. Good traction all around cept i cant comment on snow or sand. I hate sand, and dont get snow in ca.
Low noise, very even wearing, they dont slap, no issues with sidewalls, but i dont crawl or find myself around lava fields much. That said, my pops in law is in nevada and has cooled (obviously) lava fields and rock all around him and even 8ply get destroyed fast.

Im running load range C, and cant say ive seen mileage drop in 265/75/16. I rarley calculate mileage, but whenni do its around 21 highway doing 75 avg. Ill be buying again when its time. They are a good tweener tire. Mt looks and cleaning design, with at tread compound for better wear.

Ive never truly hydroplaned, even with crazy storm we recently had. I say "truly" because the front end hasnt hydroed, and although i can break the tires loose at 60 passing someone, thats throttle controlled on wet surface with a light rearend. Doing a steady 75 in rain i have not had either front or rear hydroplane on me.

Kinda a pita to balance, but thats also cuz i ask for sticky weights only. I used to mount tires, and now these new steel, or zinc wtf they are weights do not sit on the factory rims very well. Lead, no problem...the new ****.....terrible gaps waiting to be thrown.

I just wish these had the shoulder lugs from the duratrac... i like this tires tread pattern more. The authority has larger tread blocks, and i like that... but the shoulder lugs on the duratracs are badass and could prolly help in rutted situations.

I also cant get in the bfg club... the bfg at has had the same pattern for many years, and its a crap design imho for anything but dirt. The k0 from the looks of it changed that some with siping and compound change..... the k02 moreso with proper water evacuation channels that provide a clear path out to the sides. The ko just had water crashing right into treadblocks and not away from the contact area.

And im off to watch some tv and sleep.

Ps, seem to be long wearing.... ive got a few hundred feet of black strips around the corner from this set and they look great after 2yrs.

Installed a power tailgate lock. I didn't even think to take pics until after I put the tailgate back together.

I got tired of the Rodents climbing underneath the Hood so I installed a home made remedy. I had a brand new dip- stick cleaning pad with a adhesive bottom. I found a good spot to put it and soaked the sponge with peppermint oil. That smell is supposed to be a rodent deterrent. I will find out if it was worth it.

Whats a dipstick cleaning pad?
