Hello,

I just purchased a 2013 Baja Edition and am looking for educated thoughts, opinions and information on whether to add a cold air intake or not. If you have one installed, did you notice any hp gains? If so, how much? Thoughts on brand and model #? Other suggestions? I'm just looking to add some hp. Thanks everyone!

Stock is cold air. All other true cool/cold air intake pull from the same location except for the URD TCAI. They are mostly a noise maker mod on a stock engine.

I went from a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.7L V8 Hemi to the 4L V6 with the Toyota. Just want to add a bit more horsepower for climbing hills, freeway and dirt.

Lower gears will give you more power off the line and in the dirt but you'll be higher Revs on the freeway.

Measure the intake air temps stock at approx 45mph.....its ambient unless the trucks been sitting at light for a long time and heat soaked.
No intake on the market for us will lower ambient temps.

But.... the location of the filter housing is perfect for getting it hot unlike aftermarket intakes.

So theres a little argument room there until someone gets a temp sensor after the filter on a stock setup.

That said, i like the afe stage 2 si as it moves the housing off of the engine.
