Refining crude into diesel fuel is simpler and cheaper than gasoline. Diesel engines can easily use bio-fuels. The compression and air to fuel ratios produce fewer emissions, providing some of the lowest emissions. Better MPG and produces minimal amounts of carbon monoxide decreasing greenhouse gases. That's just a few benefits of a diesel run motor Vs gas.

Diesel fuel may be easier to refine but it usually costs more than premium gasoline.

Fewer emissions yet they require more emissions equipment like EGR, DPF and urea injection.

Any gain in MPG is offset by purchase cost (derzul Colorado is $6K more the gas V6), maintenance and repair bill when something fails. It will fail too with all that extra emissions crap.

I fail to see any benefit of a diesel engine in a small pickup. Sure in a Superduty, Ram 2500/3500 or Chevy 2500/3500 but useless in anything else. People speak of low end torque like they would actually use it for anything kinda like taking crap on the Ridgeline or this Hyundai because it has a unibody. You guys don't even know what that means.

Id rather have sliders welded to frame than.... epoxied to a pinch weld?
I hate working on a unibody for anything.

I like having a good base.

I like a truck to be a truck.

I'm not on TW. I'm on Tacoma.forum just like you. I don't know who any of these people you are talking about are, nor do I care.

Remember that 99% of people don't use sliders. Some Jeeps are unibody and there are sliders for them. That's fine that you like something. My thing is you sound like everyone else that just wants derzul because it's cool but don't understand the cons to one or just think of cons when it comes to a unibody vehicle.

The Ridgeline has a higher payload capacity than the Tacoma with a real frame.
