2018 Tacoma Released

Yeah. It don’t matter for most people but I really like having a full size bed. The extra foot does make a difference. Lol.
Yes it does. One of the sales guys when I was looking said “it’s only a foot longer.” He was trying to sale me a SB. I said its not just a foot longer. It’s a lot of sq ft more storage/cargo/hauling room. It’s the foot plus the width plus the depth.
Edit: about 6 cubic feet more cargo space.

Yeah, exactly what you said. I was originally after a long bed, but then discovered that for some reason, you can only get a manual transmission on a short bed off-road taco.

The manual transmission requirement won out though as I have no transmission computer trying to learn how to shift for me :)

...but I also don't have terrain select either. And the crawl control effectiveness with a manual is questionable.

It’s 5.504283 feet more cargo space to be exact. Lol.

Thanks haha. I just estimated 4.5’ or 54” x 2’ or 24” but I see it’s only 41” wide and 19” deep. 5.5 more sq ft of cargo is 5.5 sq ft. Makes a difference to me. It’s actually about 6 more cubic feet :) they are 13.2 inches longer than the SB. Haha. Squeeze that extra .5 cubic feet out of it.

6.0547113 feet to be exact. But who’s counting? Lol.

That does make a difference in hauling.

Can anyone who has been driving one with the automatic report on if the transmission issue has been addressed?

Which issue. The TSB solved the delay and clunk from reverse to drive. It changed the shifting points to hold higher RPMs instead of shifting, which is still annoying to me going over a mountain at 4500rpms watching my MPG plummet. There are still people who complain of a surging sensation when reversing slowly like backing up to a trailer. There is also a hard down shift sensation while slowing down that happens between 15mph and 5mph it almost feels like the brakes give out for a split second.
That was in the 2016 and 2017’s I haven’t heard anyone complaining about the 2018’s doing these things. I also know not everyone with the 2016 and 2017 experienced those issues.
Why?
