Tire and wheel size

Recently bought a 2017 tacoma as I needed a new hobby . I wanna start taking the truck off roading . I am going to put an icon stage 4 lift on it with stealth custom series wheels . Any recommendations for a tire size I should go with ,the truck will be my daily but I do plan on taking it out on trails as much as possible .

Most people are putting 285/75/16 on after a 3” lift. That’s what I have. Make sure your wheels have the right offset. 0 or -6 offset is good for the 285/75/16. If you have 17” wheels 285/70/17 tires.
You’ll have to take the front mud flaps off and get someone who knows how to do an alignment right. You’ll still have some rubbing at full lock into a hard bump.
Pictures..?

Right now it’s just stock in the works with a local shop with getting everything ordered , I have a step in the rear do you think I should have that removed if I’m gonna be taking it off roading

First thing to get hammered is usually the rear bumper and sides from my experience. Trucks are long in the tail and the wheelbases are long as well. Opens one up for lots of dents.

I have one and have not removed it yet but I would if you plan on wheeling it. I’ve taken mine off road but nothing extreme. Light to moderate. If you catch it it’s going to get ripped off and break. It’s held on with some bolts and you can take it on and off easy enough. Like the mud flaps. I’d take them off before hitting the trails or the trails will do it for you. If you have the tow package the adaptor for the trailer lights can be taken off and zip tied higher up while wheeling as well. It’s easy to catch and rip off. I’ve seen it happen.

Yea mines also a long bed I just plan on light To moderate stuff as it’s my daily as well . I went with a 3 in lift 285 75r17 nitto ridge grapplers and some icon alloys . The fellas at poly performance said they could make it work without any cutting so I’m excited to see the finished product

Did they do a cmc when you put your wheels tires on?

What do you mean degrade the suspension ?
The mpg will decrease with bigger tires and you put 285/75/17 which is even bigger than 285/70/17 which is usually the largest tires folks are able to fit on these 3rd gens with a 3” lift.
Also I was rhyming probably should have just said you will see a decrease on MPG with those tires.
