Stupid Newbie Question please - turning on dry pavement in 4WD

Hey, I just posted an intro about my new (to me) 2015 SR5. Can I ask what is probably a stupid question.

When in 4WD is it normal for vibration/shaking in the wheel when turning on a dry surface?

Dealer says it is. Sorry, I am 98% sure I understand this, but want t be sure. I am used to AWD cars like Subaru...

When you turn, all the wheels want to turn at different speeds. AWD or full time 4wd vehicles have a center diff while part time 4wd vehicles do not. By turning, you are loading up the drivetrain. This is called driveline bind.

Thanks everyone. I feel like an idiot asking this, and I was pretty certain this was it, but I have a natural distrust of dealers and I wanted to be 100% sure before my cooling off period is over! I will read the manual and more, just didn't have time today.

No worries man. That’s what the forum is for.

Exactly. It’s a shame when I know more about the vehicle than the salesman trying to sell it to me.
That’s a huge pet peeve of mine. If you don’t know the product then you shouldn’t sell it.
Or they could atleast say "I don't know" and ask the techs in the service dept. Bottom line salesmans don't know Jack sh*t. I'm surprised they can find their way to work everyday. Lol

Haha. I won’t deal with a salesman that can’t tell me specs. Literally the deal is over before it starts.

My favorite was when I was looking for an AWD vehicle I was looking at Audi’s and WRX’s and went to a Honda lot to look at an Audi they had. I didn’t like it. The sales guy said “I can show you a new civic Si, it’s got traction control which is the same thing as AWD” I didn’t say anything to him I just walked away and left.
