Need advice for Mud Guards 2018

First week into my new truck. I checked out a set of mud flaps at my Toyota dealership, way too long. Maybe I'm actually looking for mud guards or shorter mud flaps? I think I'd like them to hang down about 3-4". The OEM's were about 8". Thought about trimming them down but don't really need the extra work right now.
I would appreciate some advice, pics are always nice. I'd like to be able to pick them up tomorrow (say an auto parts store), if not, I prefer Amazon. Thjanks

Don’t get any.

Unless you are going to venture out of the OEM rims (ie lower offset wider rim) you really don’t need any. Obviously we all like the look of things so if you want to add a 3” mud flap do it ! ...but if it was me... I’d save my money and put other mods on. Your fender flares are now coated and protected. They are going to stop 96.398264% of the debri you fling.
(^to the millionth for you @Bogunn )

Thanks. You can never be too precise.

Triple post.

I now own the record and have received the trophy points for most posted posts in under a minute! WTF just happened. Tandy 2000 has nothing on this posting power. o_O

Ha! I was the first one to like all three

No attaboys on yesterday's mods? After all, I took a lot of your advice.
But I can't take your advice on this one. I live off-road. It's four miles off off-road just to get to my property. I can travel about 30-40 mph. When I traded in my Nissan last week, I had to run it through a little mud to hide all of the pitting around my wheels. So while I mentioned that I wasn't going to beat this truck up, I mean no more driving through brush, jumping, mud bogs, rocks.....but it will be off road a lot.
I'll need something, even thought about a clear wrap?

Like I said do what you like. Mod it how it works for you. OEM are good until you go off road extreme. I have them on the rear and they are fine. I have the fronts sitting in my garage because my 285’s rub on them. Otherwise I’d have OEM all around. @Bogunn doesn’t have that issue.
Maybe look at these as a option.

I wouldn’t run a truck without mudflaps.
There’s a ton of options out there. Just google or eBay it. You’ll find something you like. Too bad the OEM are too long. I run them and love them.

They don’t do much at stock. Take them off drive for a week and put them back on and drive for a day you won’t have damage to your truck. The lower panels have an extra coating. It’s the paint that looks like orange peel. The fender flares stick out further than the stock tires. The wheel wells have a protective liner. These are all things that protect your stock truck without the mud flaps. They are add on$

I know about he protective coating. I just don’t want the mud sling up on the truck.
