Should I keep my 1999 prerunner or save up for a newer Tacoma

I’ve been thinking about saving up for a newer Tacoma, I want to customize it, like lifting it about 2-3 inches and adding some black rims, but I really do like my truck, very reliable, love the engine, it’s an 3.4L 1999 xtracab prerunner, and I wanted to go for like a 2006 Tacoma but is it really worth it? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance

Honestly that’s a personal opinion question. If it were me I’d hold what I had. If you are good with a 2wd, like your prerunner, and it’s in good running condition then why mess with a good thing?
When you trade for another used truck you can’t always tell what they have been through. A car fax won’t tell you how hard some derp before you drove it.
Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Yeah I think I’m going to keep it, I think I’m just going to add a few things here and there to make it look good and give t that tough look. Thanks for the advice

Keep it if you don't need a 4wd. The first gen tacomas are kinda rare in good condition. Everyone I see in my area looks like hell

You think $4000 is a good price for a 98 prerunner, 2.7 engine, 229,000 miles? Good condition?
Well.. That's a lot of miles, BUT If well maintained it may be alright. In my area in good shape with 100k less miles I think it would be priced around $6000 - $7000... But 229k is a lot of miles... Bottom line is NO Tacoma is cheap.

Not really that thing is 20 yrs old with 229k miles in it. That’s about 11k miles a year. Below average from what I’ve seen and I’ve seen @Bojangles
