Ride from hell

Yeah, since Icarrasco's card is out.....gonna need KP's........hope he gets reward points for this.......hate to leave him footin' the bill without anything in return!

He can use his reward points toward Brony accessories.

Was thinking 'bout this today.......the lady in New Delhi I got a hold of sounded alot like the guy trying to renew my Sirius XM radio......he went by Michael from Boise, ID.......I'm confused.

Just finished a ride from nashville tn to tucson az and back.
What hell i put myself through the constant shifting up down was absolutely nerve racking.
Speed limit of 75 could barely hold its own.
MPG forget about it in the past i have made this same trip w a GMC Corrola Ram but never in the sled 17 tacoma v6 limited. I was a died in the wool Toyota fan until this last trip.
Junk is junk Toyota REALLY you have lost an loyal customer .
MPG was 18: 5 \ 20: 9 best to worst.
Taco goes this week

Sounds like you should have got a 2nd gen. I think the down sized engine with up sized transmission is due to the demand for fuel efficiency. After all it is a compact truck. If you need a truck for work, a V6 isn't the engine you want. I have not drove a 3rd gen, so I can't say for sure, but if you buy a small truck to do a large trucks job; you're gunna have a bad time.

Haha

I had a second gen that did everything I wanted it to but really wanted 4WD as a backup. I bought the third gen with 4WD. I have learned I need to put the transmission selector in S4 when towing. That works. But in normal driving conditions on the turnpike the third gen transmission sucks. Yesterday the transmission did its “operating as designed” shifting from 5 to 4, back to 5, then immediately back to 4, five times going up a long grade on the turnpike simply trying to maintain 75mph. The second gen didn’t do that.

Last Sunday we took 300 blocks weighing 17 lbs each on a tandem axle UHaul trailer from Wichita, KS to Tulsa, OK. I drove in S4 at about 3,200 rpm, cruising easily at 70 mph. I didn’t push it up the hills. I was VERY impressed with the Tacoma.View attachment 18578

Any truck stock will not do what the commercials say they will do, in my experience. Put some temporary air bags in the rear if your going to haul long distance like that and buy a manual transmission. Just my opinion. 1st post hi all, love my modidified 2018 Tacoma.

I have owned quite a few Tacomas. 1 gen 2 gen before i aquired the 3rd.
No complantes about 1 & 2 BUT 3 IS ANOTHER story
