My sterrring wheel shakes when i hit 55. The wheel are fine and so is my alignment what else could it be beside the steering shaft shaking

How old are the tires? I had a Jeep with the stock Goodyear Wranglers (about 50k miles) that at about 55 mph would start to oscillate. The tires themselves looked ok, no excessive / uneven wear. When I lifted it, it made the oscillations worse. Alignment and balancing did not help. Changed the tires, problem went away. My pops put the tires on his Dakota and it does the same thing (and has for the past 6years!!) None the less, he just replaced the tires (FINALLY) and problem is gone.

Moral of the story, it could be caused by broken belts within the tire itself

It's All in your mind man, it's a Taco running Smoothly , relax my friend... Rattle Rattle thunder Clattle Boom Boom Boom time for the Car-X man !
Or trade for a Found on road Dead ! Option ?
Didn't think so , Tire unevenly worn , broken belts, or That Homeless guy Last week off the freeway ramp ?

Dynamic (road) balance the tires. You have at least one tire casing that has an imperfection. Very common.

Is call excessive road force. This will cause the car to shake specially at high speeds.. you can have a tire shop try to do a 180 on the bad tire or tires to bring it down or replace the tires with the high road force.. I’m assuming this are new tires?

Dynamic Road Force Balancing might be it. Plenty of other components can play a part. Go get it checked out.
