Not the ball joint. That is a broke CV shaft. Not sure where you are, but in my area it would cost $300-500 to have it done.

Every spring I roll around on a creeper and thoroughly rinse the undercarriage of my trucks. Seems to help alot. You could coat the inside of the bumper with a product called "Fluid Film."

Every 10k, Amsoil extended life oil and WIX filter. Change just the filter at 5k.

I'm in NH. I was aware of the 4wd thing, haven't been using it much this year. The only reason I've noticed it this year is because I have a Scanguage hooked up all the time that I never had before.

You won't have to wait long to use up your stock tires, mine were pretty much gone by 22,000.
