From what I understand, in 2001 they went to an electric kick down, whereas this has a cable. This exact trans seems to be in late production 1999 and 2000 models only. I'm hesitant to throw in the tube style trans not knowing if it will work. Also, both the wrecking yard trannys only had 1 pipe...

I'm trying to replace the trans. in my 2000 Tacoma (V6 4wd Federal emissions SR5 extended cab). I've gotten 2 wrecking yard trannys and both have had different valve bodies than the trans that came out of the truck. I've done some forum searching at it seems that there was a valve body change...
