Full spare 285/70R/17 fit under stock location?

Going bigger and was wondering if I could fit a full spare where the previous spare is located? Anybody happen to know?
 
Previously you couldn't fit anything much larger than stock unless you cut the legs that center the tire. I'm not too sure about the 3rd gen but I'm guessing it's the same.

Like I said without modification... Let us know how and if you make it happen... And take pictures.
 
I've read some posts where they fit without much modding,but I've also read some where welding was required. Guess I'll see when everything comes in. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
It looks super close to the spring hanger on the driver side. The passenger side you have a exhaust hanger. Or I do on my truck
