Slowest truck tested and ECT does nothing for speed it just holds the gears longer.

I hardly ever turn mine on. I didn’t notice a difference in daily driving with or without it. It helps some when you have a load or towing but it’s not a boost button.

Daily driving, I feel it helps accelerating without pushing more on the throttle. Shifts pretty close to where i would shift if it were manual.

I use it while towing, and it is a welcome feature for that use, just like the tow/haul button on the Tundra.

Ect on, all it does is allow the transmission to hold gears longer.

Same as if u held gears and shifted manually isnt it?

Its funny how baffling this old button is.
Toyota has had it for decades, and even my 89 maxima had a version.

The derpest part, i bet if you are at wot, with ect off, the shift points are the same as if u had ect on.

Thats how those buttons worked for a LOOOONNNG time... same as the ac turning off when in either high load open loop, or wot.
