Tacoma crash test.

very impressive video ....if that had been a Ford, Chevy or a Dodge they would have been far worse off  ...need i say more.

Cool video for sure. I am not happy to see that it only received a 3 star rating for frontal impact. I would be interested to see the OFFSET FRONTAL IMPACT test more than this one. A offset frontal impact mimics real life frontal impacts more that just head on impacts as represented in this video.

I thought it was REALLY cool when it went to the passenger side camera angle and the " safe car.org " magnetic decal slid from the back door to the front door.

Why was their no side airbag deployed on the drivers side? The side airbag on the passenger side deployed.

Probably more impact on the passenger side. Realistically neither side bag should have gone off since it was a front end collision.

Agreed.

I was blown away to see that the windshield didn't even seem to crack, let alone blow out.. makes me want to know what speed they crashed it at.

For some reason when I saw the title I thought someone had volunteered to crash their Taco as a test and show footage.

I didn't even notice the magnet sliding, hot damn. That probably goes hand in hand with the passenger curtain side airbag deploying perhaps? for whatever reason the impact or g forces must have been higher on the psg. Side? Maybe less stuff in the way between the wall and the sensor? Now Im curious to know why that would be and/or if it effects the safety rating for the passenger side...hmmm

Thanks for the link Whipper, I am impressed that the front wheel did not invade the cabin area. As LNG as the airbags deploy as they should it look as though the passengers would WALK away shaken but not stirred.
