Oil Change Info for First-Timers

Hey B-man...

Thanks for posting that link to motivxtools. Their cap wrench for the plastic filter housing looks to be a quality item. Lots of local auto parts stores just have a stamped steel cap style wrench that looks like it would damage the plastic filter housing. I'm guessing this is the main reason why lots of Gen3 owners are swapping them out with aluminum housings?

You're welcome! It's good info for the first time oil changer! That oil filter wrench/socket is well made and very sturdy! The oil drain adaptor is very helpful and well made also. The filter wrench/socket works on the aluminum model also. Cheapest place I've found the aluminum housing is Amazon.....

First special tool i bought after my taco was the motivx filter wrench, great tool. Filter drain tube sure helps with not making a mess. I cannot tell you the number, I'll just say a bunch, of people come into the store looking for replacement filter canisters because the tried using filter pliers, strap wrenches, or something else to remove the plastic canister.
