4 cylinder

Whose impressed with the new gen 4 cylinder. I’ve had mine in the sr5 double cab about a week now. It’s a smooth little truck with plenty of power for what I need. Averaging about 25-26 mpg right now.
That’s good MPG. Is that the 2.7l? Congrats on the new Tacoma welcome to the forum.

Go K& N Airfilter, K& N oil Filter , With Mobil 1 , 0w20 oil , take a vacuum to the Air Filter, every 20 K miles , to get out the bugs, clean w/ soap every 50 k.
Use Bosch Platinum plugs every 80 k.
Synthetic Trans fluid too every 80 K .

The 2.7l will serve you well!! Do regular oil changes and service... you will do just fine!! That motor worked great in my 09 Access cab 4wd!!

They are great little motors that have more than proven themselves over their 20+ year life virtually unchanged. I’ve owned many of them and never had a bit of trouble. They aren’t powerhouses by any means but they run forever.

I like the Bosch platinum +4 plugs. Always got great mileage from them. Good thing you mentioned the K&N air filter here and not on another site. LOL....A 4 cylinder and a straight 6 are hard to kill. 5 main bearings for the 4 cylinder (same number as a V8) and 7 main bearing for a straight 6.
