Stupid question (Windshield wipers)

I swear I'm mechanically inclined, the fact that I can replace radiators, starters, replace tires and swap out hoses on the side of the road makes having to ask this question very embarrassing [emoji23]... Recently I discovered I have no idea how to replace windshield wipers.

It's one of those things, you pull into auto zone and go in, tell the person behind the counter what you need, pay and then the person offers or asks to install them for you, and it's a no Brainer... Sure, thanks that'd be great... And you go on about your day. Except this time I stopped at a brand new auto zone much closer to my house. Beverly Hills Florida to be exact. And the homie behind the counter didn't ask or offer, just took my money and sent me on my way.

When I got home I discovered the dura whatevers where nothing like the stock wipers, they have this cheap exoskeleton look that I don't like at all in addition to not being able to figure out how to get mine off. So I go back, ask if I can exchange them for something more OEM... When the employee tells me "sorry I have no idea what Ford puts on their cars" [emoji23] which I kindly responded that's great because I drive a Toyota truck... So... Refund?

Now I'm stuck still needing windshield wipers... Can anyone here guide me to something more OEM (I really like the look) and maybe some pointers on how to change em out. I tried finding a YouTube video but there aren't many out for the turd Gens. Mostly upgrads not maintaining. [emoji17]

No need to be embarrassed. I've been changing them for years and still struggle with them.

Months later my wiper fell apart right before a huge storm and I finally made it round to auto zone and got those Bosch ones that were suggested... I absolutely love them and they way they look. Super clean ok [emoji108] [emoji106] [emoji16]

That's what I ended up getting after trying a pair of the cheapie too. I wont buy anything else now.

I just didn't like how cheap the other pair looked. They would have been fine on one of my old mid 90s Hondas [emoji23] they probably even would have looked cool... But they looked ridiculous next to my truck. I rainx and bugx so I really only need them during bad rain in that case I don't want chincy.... These bosch ones were great. Plus I got en extra two months out of my old ones. [emoji108]
