Truck Bed Weight Capacity

‘17 DCB TRD Offroad 4x4, Shortbed. Manual says 250 pounds is max for the composite bed cargo weight. This seems a little light as most dirtbikes and sport quads are @250.

Anybody got different experiences and opinions?
 
If you google it you will find various results between 1100 and 1500 pounds. Best advice would be to look at the sticker on your driver side door jamb. It should state your max cargo capacity there. That max load includes occupant and any other weight in the cab of the truck.

I’ve put a 1/2 yard of gravel (~1300lbs) or 2 yards of bark dust (~1200lbs) for many of trips. No damage.
I put a yard of soil in once and that was a little much I was on my bump stops for that one. I did 1/2 yards of soil after that.
