Per-Collision System

Mine started acting up around 5k. I swapped out the 2018 TRD OR grill with a TRD pro at around 20 miles. So I know it’s not the grill. I went for recall and the dealer placed two overlapping 1” tape on the upper right corner (see pic). It obviously did not fix the moisture issue and it kept happening. I swapped back the grill so I would not get any crap about it and they pulled a code for an overheating element in the camera in the windshield. They said it could be related( doubt it, but they have their process). Waiting on parts to make appointment. I also have a whining noice at 58 mph while feathering the throttle. Similar to my 16 sport which ended up with a new rear end before I traded up to the 18. I was told the fix is sound deafening behind the rear seat, new leaf springs and a rear end rubber mount of some sort. Time will tell. Dealer has been great tho. Just be patient cause they have a procedure on every fix attempt. IMG_5244.jpgIMG_5245.jpg

Isn't there a way to turn off the pre collision stuff, and still use cruise control?

Without having to take a road trip with a bunch of warning lights flashing on your dash.

You can set the adaptive cruise to the lowest setting and turn off the pre-collision and lane departure. But the pre-collision dummy light will stay on.

I wonder how many accidents (rear ended) have been caused by the sensor slamming your brakes on at inopportune times? I had it happen at the junction of intersecting roads (T) Scared the crap out of me, as the guy was stopped a good 8 inches behind his stop line.

I have my pcs and acc both set at least sensitive settings just for this reason, id turn them both completely off if I could without having any warning lights. Id be interested in how many accidents have been caused just because of these 2 systems making abrupt and unnecessary speed changes. I understand these 2 systems are in concern for safety, however the flip side also needs to be addressed.

That's was happening to me with my 2018 OR. Dealer said it was a bug. Software update took care of it.

Same on my 2018 OR. Update took care of it back in May. Just today I got the alarm and the BRAKE warning. Dry weather, no cars around, garage kept truck. Same way it started last time.
