Hi, I'm brand new here and just purchased a new 2019 TRD Pro Tacoma in Voodoo Blue. I love everything about the truck except the bed and hood decals. I've seen several videos indicating it is possible to remove the decals but after my first attempt I'm not convinced. If anyone has any fool proof methods I would appreciate it!

So far I've tried gently heating the decal with a standard automotive heat gun. It is still very difficult to get the initial peal started and I don't want to damage the clear coat with my fingernail.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! I debadged my '17 with a hair dryer and patience! When pulling the decals get one edge started and don't pull towards the decal.....pull away from it at a 30°-45° angle and it will come right off!

I carefully used a heat gun and a plastic razor blade to get the first corner up, after that it was just like @B-Man said...

Food for thought... without the hood decals you'll probably get some crazy skewp glares... there's so many angles that it seems to be able to catch a glare from anywhere... lol

They put all the decals on that one. :confused:
 
I used a hair dryer on my bed decals came off pretty easy but it left residue which I used goo gone came off fairly easy.

Dont know if late, I removed my side stickers simply by using fingernails. Then pull slowly. Get some wax and alcohol and rub off the left over glue. No need to worry about anithing after that. Do not use any solvents or metal of any kind, otherwise you will ruin the clear coat and that would be very expensive.
 
Hey, I have just the one decal on the hood- anyone know what’s safe for waxes since it’s a matte finish?

All the bros on tacomaworld just got triggered, they tend to deny glare as quick as your recruiter forgets your name.
