E diff lock troubles

Just got my 2006 Tacoma, its a bit nicer than my old 2002. Im having some troubles with the E locker. Im in the proper sequence for engagement, but the light isnt coming on the dash. Any helpful ideas? Im going to remove the E locker unit this weekend and make sure its not jammed up due to non use. All of the wiring is still there and good connections. When I press the button, I can hear something under the dash clicking (relay?).

Yup, you would think it should, but it doesn’t. I can’t even tell where to look on the panel. The 4x4 and LO lights come on just fine.

Yup, it’s an off-road TRD. It’s in 4x4 low. I have heard rumors of an ECU for the Diff Locker. Any ideas on that?

Well if you hear the rely clicking and the engaged light comes on I would suggest you have a bad actuator. It's not an option that would be used very often so I wouldn't be surprised if it was seized.

Well, figured it out today. The previous removed the control unit and rewired 2 relays into the system. The actuator works just fine in 2 wheel drive, 4 high, and 4 Lo, just no dash light. Interesting bit of work. Thanks for the help.

Looks like someone did the anytime locker mod... I did this on my 10 but it looked a little cleaner. Lol
Pretty sure the the locker light came on anytime it was activated tho. There's a great write up about it somewhere deep in the bowels of TW. Wouldn't hurt to find it and trace their work. Might find a flaw...[emoji2369]

Yup,,,messy job. The locker light comes on now, only when I turn the key to "On". New truck blues I guess. Finding lots of WTF items. They also installed another 110v outlet right next to the stock one in the bed. The style you would use outside of your home. The outlet is not live, and the wires run up into the body somewhere behind the center console. Thanks again to the members for the help.
