AC stopped working, only 36000kms or 23000miles, what gives??

So I must say I'm a little disappointed in Toyota. The AC in my 2016 has stopped working and my vehicle is off warranty!!! I didn't expect a failure at such low miles as normally the AC should last a lot longer. I did some diagnosis and its leaking (compressor still runs) so I just filled it back up. Hopefully it lasts. So far its been a few weeks and it's still cold so the leak must be really small. I shot a video of me filling it up so if it helps anyone great.

It was probably leaking from the factory, so it will probably start getting warm about 2022 again.

Ya it sucks, that it went just after the warranty expired......

Maybe contact Toyota Corp and ask nice if they will honor a fix. 3yr 36k miles you’re still within the mileage.
I’d be shocked if they did anything for you. They aren’t the company they use to be on the customer service. But... You’re not out anything by asking and maybe they’ll suprised you.

You know that's a good idea. When I worked at a GM dealership years ago we would "good will" customers who were just outside warranty. As you say Toyota is not what they use to be, also my truck is nearly 5 years old (this october will be 5) so I'm not holding my breath, but you know its worth a try.
