New '14 taco trd off road

Just wanted to introduce myself, and my new truck. Just got a 2014 Tacoma, Barcelona Red, Access Cab, TRD Off Road 4x4 4.0L 6 speed manual. Put 600+ miles on it over Thanksgiving and it is sweet! New to Tacomas and new to forums.

On duty right now will post some pics tomorrow~

I read somewhere that you can get a dealer installed supercharger on that truck, bust HP to over 300. Are you considering that.

Welcome to the forum! Nice truck, good to see another manual transmission on the road

I have also read that. It would be really awesome, but I don't think it is 4K+$ awesome... maybe down the road, when the new truck smell wears off and the pockets fatten up a bit.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you've been able to get a dealer installed supercharger on any Taco since 2005. Perhaps even before that. As long as you got the $$$. Getting a turbo on it is cheaper and gives you a little more HP. But there is only 1 manufacturer that makes a turbo for our trucks, I think.

The only turbo I know of is sts, which with the ecu re map is close to 6k. But with turbos you can always do a custom setup at around 4k if you have someone who can tune it.

I have seen completed custom turbo kits for about 8000 and up mostly depending on what fuel management. I have also heard that the STS kit is not very good.

In the end the TRD blower is the easiest route since it all bolts in and new fuel maps are an ECU flash away. If you are looking for serious power you are in the wrong vehicle.

Meh. Even then you have to move a lot of weight and you have no traction. The most powerful XRs are only in the 12s and that's with built internals and twin turbos.
