Images are out there. Looks bad ass....at least from the side. Apparently it will have better mileage and power. ('bout time, I love my Taco but a little irritated that a full size GM V8 gets better mileage).

That's a photoshop of a new runner with a bed done by someone on TW not a real image or an image from Toyota. There is nothing but speculation out there.

As far as full size V8 MPG goes, do some research. People don't get the MPGs that manufacturers claim. I almost bought an 09 Silverado Z71 that was rated at 18mpg. It wasn't going to happens. Not even the Ecopoop gets that great of mileage unless you only drive highway and stay out of boost. You might see 20mpg then.

Oh. Good eye.
Maybe this one.
Either way. Followed my bro for 400 Km's. He is in Z71, me in my Tacoma (no mods). He got 22. I got 20. All highway. He had no idea I was comparing.

I mean.... this one.
I meant to put a disclaimer on the last one. As I will for this one. It's the internet after all.

Looks like what's out there now. If it isn't an image from Toyota I don't believe it.

Is your brother looking at the MPG display in the truck or figuring it out for himself?

So 2mpg difference is worth driving around a larger truck? I've always said that if MPGs are a concern then don't drive any truck since there are cars that get much better mileage. 20 or 22 isn't good by today's standards.

Dude chill. I said I was irritated by the fact a larger truck with a larger engine gets better mileage than mine. I'm pumped about the Tacoma finally squeezing some more mpg out of their V6. If I wanted the GM I would have bought it. I wanted a tacoma for several reasons including the perfect size for my needs.
Peace

I am pretty chill. I'm just trying to get more than "it gets better mpgs" as to reasoning look at a full size. You aren't the only one to say the same but no one really seems to analyze anything. Sorry for asking questions.

I'll vouch for the 22mpg vs 20mpg thing. Last summer drove to maine, me wife and kid in my tacoma, my mom and dad in his '13 gmc sierra. He indeed got 22 and I got 20. Did the math when we filled back up. Must be the 4cyl shutting off at cruise speed. I'll keep my taco for 2mpg is no big to me.
