Upper control arms

Does changing out your upper control arm,to aftermarket one gain you any lift?

I would say no! You need longer stronger Springs or cheap way , spacers with factory springs.

The answer to your question is "no". Usually when you go to do a lift on a Toyota truck people usually buy a lift kit in a package. Some of the more expensive lift kits come with extended upper control arms. If you tried to just install the aftermarket uppers, they prolly wouldn't fit cuz in order to make it work you'll need a extended travel shock/strut, and a set of lifted coil springs to complete your front end lift. What i did on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma was I bought ToyTec 3"spacers for the front (after you put the lift on the front of your truck, you MUST get a front end alignment done immediately). Also, if you dont want a front end vibration, you'll also need to buy front differential drop kit. After that, I bought a set of "Old Man EMU" rear lifted leaf springs, which lift the rear about 2 1/2" and the front spacers gave me about 3" of lift. Also, no one ever told me this so i had to figure this out on my own, the slightly older Taco's once lifted have a problem with the drivers side of the truck sits lower by about a half inch than the passenger side. So they sell a kit that corrects this problem. Anyhoo, here's a couple shots of what my truck looks like after my lift install.

I have a 6 in on my truck it was just a question I've just seen some of them with more bend where the ball joint is

A 6" lift huh, what kind did you buy if you dont mind me asking? And where did you get it from? Cuz I've been wanting to switch to a 6" but I haven't found any for a good price...

I work at les Schwab, I did the tuff country 6 inch lift and changed the front struts out so I don't have to run that dumb spacer on the top of the factory strut, very happy with it
