Worth taking a look?

Hey all, hopefully will be a Taco owner here soon. I found one for sale online and need some advice on if it's worth taking a look at.

2002 Tacoma Base v6 4x4 Double Cab
183,000 Miles

I looked into the vin since its from Wisconsin. The frame was replaced in 2010 due to the rust recall.

Asking $7800 for it.

Sound like a good deal or is the mileage too high? Also since the frame was replaced would I be trouble free of the frame rust recall?

183,000 is nothing for a Tacoma. My 08 actually has 180,000 on it right now and I have zero issues. As for the frame recall since it was replaced that should be the end of that problem. Although it's worth going to a body shop and sprayin a protective layer of some anti rust stuff on there, idk what it's called. What id look for is leaks and checking the car fax for prior accidents. 7,800 is a pretty good deal if the owner says what he claims about the truck.

It's actually from a small dealership. I don't even think they know about the frame. I got the vin and checked the service records with Toyota to find out. I'm hoping to get out and checking it out this weekend.

Damn for a dealership that's a really good price lol. Wish my local dealers were like that. But yeah take it for a test drive to, but I think you already know. Let us know if you get the truck man! Good luck.
 
The dealership is VERY small, 3 guys run it and it happens to be that they are closed for the weekend for a trip. Haha my luck. I have talked to him to set up a time to take a look though. It's a hour drive for me but my dad lives where it's being sold. He took a video for me and there is some minor rust and a cig burn in the driver seat but other than that it's pretty clean for a 02. Just hope it runs good and then it will be mine. From what I've read I shouldn't be too concerned about the mileage.

Check the frame for rust
 
This is exactly what I have but mine has 178,000 and I bought it for 7500 off eBay. If everything is in great shape then go for it, I did and I don't regret it at all the only thing wrong with it was the ac compressor. They are usually worth 10-12,000
