fled from tacomaworld

Biggest problem I had was trying to explain a little bit of wetness or a barely perceivable noise.... isn't really an effing problem. Either Toyota holds your truck hostage and fixes it, or they don't. Oh well, deal with it.

I still think TW is a good site , I was very active there for the last 8 years, made some friends, & at least in my duration there the San Diego region was the most active on the entire site, many meet &greets but I loved we'd have 2 trail runs a week (sometimes more) We had members from as far north as Canada & NorCal, a few also came from AZ on regular basis for snow runs in winter or mobbing the desert for the LT guys...

Good times

I speak my mind on TW and have made my fair share of complaints. My biggest issue is not so much problems with the new gen truck, which I did expect to some degree, but more that the dealers seem to be out of the loop with Corporate. They fixed all my issues to date but only after opening cases with Corporate. My local dealer adamantly denied every issue I presented to them. After opening a case with Corporate, and posting youtube video proof of issues, and sending those videos to the dealer and Corporate, the dealer miraculously fixed every issue with a big fat smile. My differential now has a very minor dampness around the housing cover bolts. I know that a good torquing should be the cure. I have the recall letter. I am just so concerned that they will also keep my truck forever to get it fixed. I have been very reluctant to take it in. I have been closely monitoring the "leak" and am certain it is not as severe as some I have seen. After a good alcohol wipe down it took weeks for any light dampness to appear.

Sadly that hits the nail right on the head. There does seem to be a huge disconnect between the dealers and corporate. Not just with the Tacoma’s either. I have two different friends that were die hard Toyota and now they won’t even buy another because of the crap they’ve dealt with from dealerships. One had a RAV4 and one had a Tundra. Driveline issues for one and motor problems for another.
Instead of fixing the obvious problem the dealerships either blatantly deny the issue or say that it’s fixed when it’s not. This is warranty work that’s going to keep haunting them so I never understand why dealerships shirk the responsibility.
It’s really odd that this seems to be a problem everywhere. I know the dealerships in my area used to be top notch with customer service. That’s apparently a thing of the past.

You didn't get the memo. Say nothing bad about the new truck or else some whiny little owner on their period will report you.

Don’t make fun of my gen 3 whippersnapper or I’ll report your post. Lol. (Just Kidding).
All of the Tacoma’s have issues. I’ve had gen one, two, and three Tacoma’s and none have been perfect. They are definitely better and more capable than about anything else out there but they aren’t infallible. That’s the whole point of a forum isn’t it? To get information, fixes, advice, and ideas.
I’ve never been on TW but it sounds like some of them fellas need to get the sand out of their panties and grow up a little.

ever since they banned this dude over at TW there hasn't been a reoccurance of BS going on at TW, they finally got rid of the trouble maker for only 1 month ban, if they really want to keep out the horseplay they should permantly ban him
