Rough country lift kit?

3” leveling kit is something I’ve been looking at. All these negative comments get me going. Obviously everyone wants to throw the most money for the product that THEE best. But budget upgrades can’t be that terrible. Spacers. Add a leaf. I know I don’t have 1500$ to lift my truck. But 300 is manageable for me.

I to am looking for a 3" lift for my 06 4x4 but dont have $1000 to invest more like $300.... im poor you know

I'm financially challenged as well, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a "budget lift" I've always thought outside the box with all my lifts, I have lifted approx. 200 Toyotas both 1st & 2nd gens. (3rd gens are the same app as 2nd gens) & not all were done with the high end king/icon/fox resi struts. Most were done with the Bilstein 5100 series ride height adjustable struts for the front & the 5125's for the rear (these can be customized for lifts up to 4"-4.5" ) I DO avoid spacer &/ or body lifts because I don't like the way they look or the weird characteristics it can have in ride quality.

I had a 2000 TRD 4x that I lifted 3" with the 5100's & OME 883#'s coils in front & replaced my stock rear springs rebuilding them with junk yard Chevy truck springs, total cost for lift with new shocks all corners was about $600 & this was a legit performance lift off road & great ride quality on road...

I currently have an '04 TRD 4x set up much the same way, just haven't changed front coils yet...

EDIT:

You can go the spacer route but I can pretty much promise you'll regret it at some point...

Buy bilstein 5100’s for the front and level truck out this month $200, buy bilsteins for the rear next month $200, buy an AAL or make your own leaf pack like @4wd the next month $200 and then raise the front bilsteins so its leveled again. You’ll have your budget lift and a much better ride.

2nd gen.OME 883# coils on 1st gen Tundra 5100's on 1st gen Tacoma...

It's madness I tell you...

Trd sport, offroad, or just an sr5?

U will not want to use bilstein 5100s alone up front to lift an offroad due to the progressive oem coils. You will make it ride much worse.

If sr5 or trd sport, those are linear and handle 5100 preloading "better".

In the end, the best way is to use proper lift coils like eibach/toytec, or ome/arb up front on a 5100 set at zero, or some ome shocks.
