Have you noticed ... ?

What a mess these 3rd gens seem to be.

Let's be careful here. I strongly believe the Toyota Tacoma is a fine reliable quality vehicle and I am just plain in love with mine. These little harps I have about certain things are in my view things that Toyota can easily correct with software updates, except for the touchy brakes. I read a lot of reviews prior to buying and the touchy brakes was often mentioned. The reviews also put the Taco down in the rankings at about #9. But I never trust those reviews. I do feel however that a little feedback to Toyota about these issues which I have mentioned might just do them as well as we Tacoma owners some good. Toyota cannot help but benefit from our feedback. I have been thinking about communicating my observations back to them directly.

Careful of what ? Hurting Toyota's feelings ?? But seriously , most the complaints you'll hear aren't new, they are a continuing issue from the annoying, to down right stupidity... a few here have pretty much stripped their Tacoma's down to the frame & are quite familiar with the issues most gripe about , what I'm saying is they know them inside out, & have voiced their thoughts to Toyota corporate, do they listen ? Maybe,

I've pretty much stopped listening to new complaints seeing how Toyota hasn't taken care of the old ones..

I really gave up when they pass off a torque value of 37 ft. lbs for U bolts , although I hear they changed it to 43 ft lbs (big deal, still too loose)...

Weak ass leafsprings since 1998 (this was the year that 1st gen springs set the bar that the 2nd gen & 3rd gens still adhere to & BTW that bar wasn't set very high, the consuming market has been wanting a decent spring since '98 & it hasn't happened yet...just an example on how well Toyota listens now, I say "now" because when Toyota was a true import, they led the industry in self recalls, meaning no one had to file law suits to make things right , Toyota took care of the buying public...Since operations came stateside a new kind of customer service was spawned & it's horrible but, yeah go ahead & take some notes & drop them into toyota corp's suggestion box maybe they'll listen IDK...

Agreed. But sadly they still make a higher quality vehicle then about any other manufacturer. And I say that because I’ve had Mopar and GM vehicles in recent years. They were all nothing but trouble except for the latest Mopar I’ve owned. Since Fiat took over they seem to be doing a little better.

But I don't ever see me driving anything else...

I heard that. You just can’t leave. It’s like an abusive spouse you keep going back to. You are Tina Turner and Toyota is Ike Turner.
