Rear differential noise on 2016 taco

Haven't seen much about it on this forum. Just interested to know how many people on here have had this problem and did anyone get it fixed?

No video. Seems to be pretty common from what I've seen on other forums. Howling when feathering the throttle around 50-60mph.

My Off Road tacoma has rear diff noise. The differential was replaced by the dealer and noise went away for a few hundred miles. Now it is back worse than ever.

Yea. That's what I've been hearing. Replacing diff doesn't work. Hope they find a fix soon. Gonna report mine at 5000 mile service.

Will find out this week myself. They kept my 2017 when I took it In for the 10k Service. Won’t get the replacement differential until Tuesday. Will see how it goes. I complained about the off throttle whine from the rear (between 45 to 60) at my 5 k. They went to change the diff gasket this time and said the fluid looked like it had 200k instead of 10 k.

So... new diff on the way. Supposedly new. I ask specifically about this since I don’t want a remanufactured part.

I have my truck back now. It took a couple days to get the parts. They gave me a loaner 4Runner I n the meantime.

It drives fine. I do still hear a little whine off throttle from about 45 to 60 mph. It is not nearly as loud as before. I will see how it goes from here. My dealer treated me well so, no complaints so far.

Do u have video of this noise?
Just curious.

This, in this day of high tech phones (which almost everyone has) It's pretty much ridicules NOT to have some sort of audio/video of the issues your trying to describe, you guys say "howling" ,, That can be from a few things on the drive train, a short vid can take a few seconds to identify & diagnose, a guessing game of " "Well it sounds like rumpity bumpity who ****." Can take days to identify , if even then, help us, help you... get a vid...

Update::. The whine is back in my rear diff. After replacement.. about 1000 miles and it is whining as loud as ever. I will say the transmission is shifting like a normal truck and not as frustrating as before. Maybe they did a trans update while they replaced the rear diff. Maybe I won't trade this truck in now....

But the rear diff is as loud as before. It was mostly quiet until 600 to 700 miles after replacement.
