Why Toyota opted to poke at Chevy

Kids in the sandbox throwing sand at each other. Instead of poking fun, Toyota should wake up and realize their quality is slipping.

I still think Toyota has the highest quality on the road (after owning Mopar and GM) but I definitely agree quality has slipped over the years from the vehicles that made their reputation.

I’d put Toyota at Ford level right now. Every vehicle will have issues but Toyota goes around blasting their quality juice on everyone the most. Now my Tacoma hasn’t left me stranded but it has let me down in terms of overall quality. My Ranger almost as good.

I’ll always be committed but they’ll lose others if quality does not improve. Chevy and GMC is only the beginning stage for Toyota’s competition. Ford with they’re Ranger & Bronco returning.

The last Ford I had were no quality at all, 2003 Ranger was a lemon. It seems like a lot of people had issues around that time. It made me a little biased against them. But they definitely seemed to have improved their quality over the past few years though. Everyone I know with a newer F Series loves them and has had few issues if any.

Agreed. Ford may be coming back up with the Bronco and Ranger release.

I had an 03 Ranger 4wd 4.0 5 speed. It grew leaks but it was from the mudding I used to do. The only real issue I had was it needed a clutch every year no matter how I drove it. There was a slave cylinder issue with most 4wd 5 speed Rangers with the Mazda trans. I traded in after 140K miles only because I was tired of messing with the clutch.

I remember the clutch issues. Mine was a 2WD Edge. I swear it was just a lemon. Stupid small things constantly. It spent more time at the dealership than it did on the road.
There’s issues in all of the makes and models. Some just seem to have a whole lot more issues.
