Shakes when braking

I get a shake every now and then. I think it's deposits from the pad because it will go away. On top of that I get an awesome grinding when coming to a stop. I've had the worst luck with front brakes on this truck.

EBC rotors and pads
Brembo blanks and EBC pads
DBA rotors and EBC pads
Currently on Brembo blanks and Hawk ceramic pads

Did you liked the EBC rotors/pads?
Ceramics are known to make a rubbing or grinding noise. I never did like them. Ceramic brakes where never designed for performance or racing.

Seems like EBC rotors and pads wear down quickly. The EBC pads ate my expensive DBA rotors. I don't think I would buy their products again.

I was trying a different compound since I seem to be going through brakes like crazy. These ceramic pads are still basically new but they make an audible grind.

Mine was doing the same thing I replaced the rotors and it stopped View attachment 15389View attachment 15390

I think Tacomas have had this issue for a long time, at least with 1st gens. OEM rotors were kinda thin to start with & coup[e that with a 4 piston caliper A couple hard stops will heat enough to warp, but like you did I went to aftermarket slotted/vented rotors w/ceramic pads & it went away & stoppped on a dime, smoothly, no chatter...

Really ?? I've had no issues at all with ceramics, no unusual grinding or short life ...

Its gotta be ur truck man.

Ive been running ebc stage 5 for 8ish years without issue.

U dont have much brake components to change tho, so im not sure wtf is wrong, its crazy.

I told u i faded hawk lts 2 times.... as in 2 sets.
They are ****, and i hope somehow the lower grade hawk pads help you, but i doubt it.

So my truck spent the day at Toyota yesterday to figure out why my truck shakes at high speeds. They came back and told me it was a combination between my rotors and my struts. I got new rotors and am working on getting some new 5100s ordered to see if that is really my problem. They also said I should replace my rear u joints which I feel have never gave me any real problems so I’m going to grease all of them up and see what that does for me. I’ll give a update when I finish it up

Zerks are over looked a lot in maintaining and they are easy to grease.
