Has anybody here at success or unsuccess installing the anytime rear facing camera mod for a 3rd gen? I saw a post someone did it to their 2015. Just curious

That’s exactly what I was talking about, literally that product. Seems like a fun mod but practical for those with trailers holding work equipment.
I run across those last week by accident on a google search......had to remember what the name was.......finally came to me.

I have front and rear facing cameras I can switch switch between at any time. The rear one makes it really easy to hook up on a trailer and also keep an eye on when you're hauling. It also helps to see how close Tailgators are when you're driving a lifted truck

do you know which camera and adapter you used to make it all work?

My front camera and head unit are kenwood, the tailgate camera im not sure. My truck has more electronics this best buy lol

I’m not sure if the auto Tacoma’s work the same, but my buddy will put his ‘14 Tundra in R at anytime going down the road, 45-75mph, doesn’t matter. The only thing that happens is the backup camera comes on, he uses it to check the trailer hitch, etc,... and to freak me out. lol
I can pull my (manual) shifter over toward Reverse and trick the camera into coming on while going down the road. Someone with an auto want to research this? Or are we talking about completely different things?

I've heard of this also. That would kinda freak me out shifting to reverse at 70mph lol
