I think you need to go test drive one and get it out of your system.
Use the air conditioned seats while you cruise and show it off.
I bet if Taco fanboys see you in a Ford they’ll faint.

If your Ford gets wore out pulling that heavy load OR17TRD can come over after his nail painting party with the rest of the housewives and help.

I guess I could always buy a Turd gen.

Those rear diff issues are really getting out of hand.

You wouldn’t know how to handle the power of the turd gen 3.5 6 speed with it’s shift points below 1,200 RPM for practically all gears....

Actually I’d have to leave an extra 30 minutes ahead of my normal time to just make it to work.

On a serious note... my biggest aggravation with the truck. But I don’t really want to install the shifter and leave it in sport shift all the time either. So I’ll deal with it.
On the plus side speeding tickets are practically a worry of the past.

Try that shift module deal on TW. I don't remember how much it was but I don't think it's a lot.

It’s not much. That’s what I was talking about. I looked at it and put some thought into getting it. It’s an awesome product but I’m used to the shift points now.

Even the 2nd gen 5 speed was quick to get into high gear. I use 4th around town now. The engine is more responsive, runs smoother at speed (45-50mph) and gas mileage is up a tad. I see 2000 rpm at 50mph which is the same as when I’m going 70 in 5th.

I remember that from my second gen 4.0 liters. I do love that drive train though. The most interesting I ever had was the 4wd 2.7 liter automatic. It felt like the transmission was having seizures pulling any hill.

I’d take the 3.5 with the 6 speed issues over any CVT setup though.

Absolutely. I despise CVT transmissions. Had them in the wife’s newer model Subaru’s and her 2006 Murano years ago. IMO it feels like your waiting forever to take off and then you slingshot to speed.

You also like soccer mom SUV’s. Not judging you. Just saying.
Aren’t you late for a nail painting party?
