2000 v6 auto trans. replacement

I'm trying to replace the trans. in my 2000 Tacoma (V6 4wd Federal emissions SR5 extended cab). I've gotten 2 wrecking yard trannys and both have had different valve bodies than the trans that came out of the truck. I've done some forum searching at it seems that there was a valve body change mid 1999 from the 2 tube valve body to a larger and supposedly 'upgraded' valve body. I can't seem to find a 2000 or late production 1999 trans. in town so I'm wondering if the 1998 / early 1999 trans. will work or if I need to keep searching for a late 1999 / 2000 trans. I've included some pics of each below. Thanks!

2 tube valve body from 1998 - early production 1999

Sticker on the top of the 1998 - early 1999 trans.

Of course there was a change. That's how it seems to work for me most of the time. I get the one that's special and harder to find.
I have not done this job on this model Tacoma. I would think "best" idea would be find and replace with the same part. When it comes to major components I personally wouldn't just put something in because it's convenient.
You should be able to find late 99-2004. That might help broaden your search.
You might call the toyota service department and talk to a tech that knows. Or the parts counter and see if the parts are interchangeable.
Good luck.
Let us know how this plays out. I'm interested.

From what I understand, in 2001 they went to an electric kick down, whereas this has a cable. This exact trans seems to be in late production 1999 and 2000 models only. I'm hesitant to throw in the tube style trans not knowing if it will work. Also, both the wrecking yard trannys only had 1 pipe and the pics online seem to have 2. Not sure about that either.

Sucks! Sorry man.
