Can some point me to something that tells me EXACTLY how to check the transmission fluid level. I have seen everywhere that there is no dipstick and you have to crawl under and check when warm. Haven't seen a writeup that is easy to follow...

Thank you

Yes there is NOT a dipstick in the gen2 and gen3 V6 auto Tacomas.
  • Make sure the truck is level.
  • Get the trucks transmission between 115-130 degrees. Read owners manual.
  • If it is equipped with tow package there is a pin you have to keep open for that line. Read owners manual.
  • Pull the fill plug, if fluid drips or leaks out its full. Put fill plug back.
  • If not... pump fluid into it until it starts to drip out wait until dripping stops.
  • Put the fill plug back in and torque to spec.
Or trust the dealer or your local transmission shop to do it for you.
