97 2.7 engine mods

Has anyone out there done any mods to get a little more power out of their 2.7. Mine has 117000 on it and it just feels like its always pulling something. Just a little too sluggish for me. What are some good ideas to beef it up!??
 
A header will free up a bit of power. Check out Doug Thorley or LC Engineering.

Since it is a first get I'd look up the deckplate mod.
