ATRAC didn't fail. You can see it transferring power but since it isn't a constant it allowed me to lose my momentum before it started working. That last attempts had locker in use so ATRAC deactivates above 3mph.
I see. I've never had to (or got to) use it in mud. Just rocks

I wouldn't call that mud. The ground was moist but it was still firm. There is deep mud there but I stay out of that crap.

Yep Mostly hard ground for me. In my earlyer days id scramble in my pastures but we dont ranch anymore

I only have atrac damn hood scoop I bout the truck without doing research and the skewp caught my eye but I wish now I would of got the offroad and then bought a hood oh well I'm still happy with my switch from a full size Chevy. But I gonna have to go with the locker here but I bet they work nicely together.
