Hey everyone - anyone done an audio upgrade on the TRDPro? The JBL system is ok but when you dial it up you can def hear the quality decrease.

Not sure if it is worth it to do anything but wanted to get a feel for what options I may have.

Thx

There is also a kicker speaker upgrade for the tech non JBL package that sounds much better than stock and it’s fairly cheap.

Hmm. Taco brochure said the Pro doesn't come with JBL. Make sure the headunit and front door speakers have the JBL logo.

Either way, OEM Audio Plus makes plug and play systems. They are pricey but install is super easy. http://oemaudioplus.com/toyota/tacoma-options/

This! I just upgraded the 6 standard stock speakers with the OEM Audi speakers and plan on upgrading the amp and adding the subwoofer down the road. What a difference! Im quite certain that for less than $600 it sounds way better than the JBL system. When I add the amp and Sub it will be AMAZING!!!!

Install was a piece of cake, everything was plug n play.

I did the same thing to my BMW using Bavsound speakers with similar results. These vehicles come apart and go back together very easily and the result is far better than what you get from the factory upgrades. (Except if you go for the B&W, B&O, Mission etc upgrades but they cost $3,000 and up) Much better than the HK, JBL or Bose system upgrades out there.......

While this is just my opinion I was in the high end home and car audio industry for nearly 20 years so I have some level of expertise.
