Can you go off roading in a 4 banger?

I just got an 09 access cab 4 banger, and obviously you can only do so much with it but I wanted to know exactly what all they are capable of.

They are capable of a lot. I got a 2.7 in my 2000 access cab and I wheel it a little harder than I probably should haha.

Sure can. I had a 2010 2.7 and that truck was amazing. You find your self
Riding the clutch a lot, but it crawls rocks and can sling mud

4 bangers rock, no pun intended. its really all about the gearing for rock crawling. prerunning is a different story. It dosent take much hose power to crawl up rocks with proper gearing. (all thought it might help in some cases)

I've seen some cool old toyota 4runners and pickups with 22re 4cyl motors crawl some crazy things. They had 5.29 gears and lockers but the original motor. Very capable.

Engine power doesn't change wheeling capabilities unless you are talking about a low rider 5 lug.

No doubt my grandpa had a 4 Cyl 2001 and pushed it to the limit plenty. It's still running. You'd be surprised what they're capable of.
