For You 3rd Genners...Auto Tranny "Control Module"

Just thought I'd share. I'm pretty skeptical on how he manages to control shifts through the OBD2 port without Techstream or even at all since it is a diagnostic port. Maybe it's possible for diagnostic purposes but I'm not sure. I'd wait for reviews before spending your money because people have come and gone with miracle products that do nothing like the Crawford Performance MAF spacer.

It's people like that who need to be working for toyota. They might actually be able to fix these issues. I'm skeptical as well. I'll wait and see how it shakes out. Thanks for sharing that on this forum whippersnapper.

This is an old thread but thought i would share i have been using this product for a few hundred miles now. Works great. Seems like this is how it should have been when Toyota made it.

Thanks for bringing this post back up. I wasn’t aware of this product. I may actually look into this mod.
That’s one of my only complaints with the gen three Tacoma is the shift points. Where I live in the mountains I find myself losing a lot of highway speed and the truck downshifting like an 80’s 4-banger Ford Escort.

This is an awesome product and I have used for several months now. I have the transmission software updates and still love the shift sense pro. I use this every time I get on the highway and feel more confident when I'm passing. It's not needed when driving on slow neighborhood streets. The rest of the time it improves performance and downshifts are much more responsive. I love it and it is the best thing I've done to my 3016 TRD OR long bed. I now love my truck.

Shift commands are NOT thru the port. The device is inline with the shifter cable and sends shift commands only when the shifter is in Sport mode. (as if you were shifting by hand). The OBD port is for module power, engine rpm, ground speed, etc.

Ah I thought it was through the port. Sweet idea.
