I have an 09 Tacoma Prerunner and wanted to know what would be a good and inexpensive way to get a loud roar on my truck?

Better yet cut the exhaust in front of the cats. Even louder. :walkman:

To be honest I could not tell ya, I like mine quiet. The only engines I like loud are V8's with open headers or headers with just mufflers like my Chevelle. On it I have Doug Thorley headers with Thrush header mufflers glass pack style. A V6 which I have in my Taco just can compare.
 
But seriously, if you want a quick and cheap upgrade to a loud roar that'll wake the neighbors, chop off the muffler and clamp on a glasspack. You can find Thrush glasspacks or Cherry Bombs for about $25 and the clamps for $5...

But seriously you will get more of a 3am alley cat meow than a roar with this V6.
 
Let me tell you tho, don't cut your muffler off, it's just to loud and doesn't sound that great. I mean it sounds good but not great, like Byrd said the only engine that should run straight pipe are good ole v8s. I would just look into an aftermarket muffler.
 
Yeah no muffler is just terrible. I did it with my Ranger and it was just annoying. I got fed up one day so I put the stock exhaust back on and I got my low end power back.
 
K/n intake. Will give u some noise. Especially if u stomp on it at highway speed. Almost deafening Freaks people out when u pass them they snap there necks.. Put a performance exhaust. Sounds bad ass...
